The Budget Assistant in WHO Egypt CO will support the day-to-day financial operations and budget monitoring, supporting the country office and its programs, and ensuring compliance with WHO's financial regulations, all within the specific context of WHO's activities in Egypt.
Task DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of Budget and Finance Associate, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: โข Support the monitoring of the funding status of programs. โข Contribute to forecasting expenditures based on program activities and historical data. โข Contribute to the processing of financial transactions related to program activities within Egypt, under the guidance of senior staff. โข Participate in the maintenance and updating of financial records specific to the Egypt CO, as part of the finance team. โข Assist in the preparation of program budgets, learning about WHO's financial guidelines and donor requirements. โข Support the monitoring of program budget execution, contributing to tracking expenditures and identifying potential variances. โข Assist in the processing of payment requests for program activities, gaining experience in financial transaction management. โข Assist in the generation of financial reports for program managers, as part of the finance team. โข Support the financial closure of program activities, contributing to accurate recording and documentation. โข Assist in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements. โข Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support the team in responding to audit inquiries. โข Participate in financial meetings and workshops, as part of the team. โข Assist in the archiving and storage of financial records, learning about WHO's record retention policy.
