The Trade and Supply Chain Finance Department (CTS) is one of the industry groups at IFC, with both investment and advisory services delivered to IFCโ€™s clients through IFCโ€™s global network. IFC's priorities in Trade are to: (i) grow investment and advisory solutions in all regions it operates in, while achieving strong profitability and development impact; (ii) build new and nurture existing client relationships to make IFC the preferred partner for key clients; (iii) manage portfolio of assets for strong profitability and impact; (iv) support local companies, while improving transparency and corporate governance; (v) catalyze foreign investment, including mobilizing B loans, parallel loans, and other forms of capital mobilization; (vi) introduce and develop new financial solutions, products and platforms; (vii) build long-term partnerships with strong regional players; (viii) develop client, sector and country-level solutions through interventions that can be scaled and replicated; and (ix) be a thought leader and innovator of products and client solutions globally.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The Trade Finance Officer is expected to:ย 

โ€ข ย  Originate and execute trade finance transactions with Issuing Banks under IFCโ€™s Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) in South Asia by connecting with regional and global GTFP Confirming Banks.
โ€ข ย  Maintain contacts with GTFP Issuing Banks and stay abreast of market development to manage risks in the portfolio.
โ€ข ย  Monitor and execute daily trade finance transactions in South Asia, facilitate timely processing of amendments and cancellations by working closely with IFCโ€™s GTFP Operations team; monitor trade lines and ensure that transactions are consistent with all corporate guidelines, including the trade operational guidelines; track program activities by using IFCโ€™s corporate systems and prepare reports as needed.
โ€ข ย  Identify and propose changes to GTFP limits of IBs based on business demand and IFCโ€™s risk appetite. Lead the processing of such changes.
โ€ข ย  Develop and process new business leads (with Regional Lead supervision) under IFCโ€™s other Trade and Supply Chain Finance products including the Global Supply Chain Finance, Global Trade Liquidity Program, Global Warehouse Finance Program and Commodity Finance facilities. The selected candidate will also support other tasks assigned by the Regional Lead under IFCโ€™s trade programs.
โ€ข ย  Lead to the formulation of country and regional strategy in South Asia as it relates to Trade and Supply Chain Finance.

Selection Criteria

โ€ข ย  MBA, masterโ€™s degree in finance or equivalent.
โ€ข ย  At least 5 to 8 yearsโ€™ experience in trade finance with an international commercial bank or other financial institution.
โ€ข ย  Extensive knowledge of commercial banking products and services, experience in correspondent banking relationships and international trade products.
โ€ข ย  Knowledge of corporate trade finance and supply chain finance related products.
โ€ข ย  Strong financial and credit skills along with analytical ability.
โ€ข ย  Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
โ€ข ย  Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds.
โ€ข ย  Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
