Under the direct supervision of the Senior Officer Partnerships, the Associate Programme Officer supports the unit with overall team coordination and operations. ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Senior Officer Partnerships the Associate Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties: โข Carries out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations and other activities, related to the Portail des Nations new visitor center, including collecting, analyzing and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources. โข Provides substantive support for coordination and evaluation functions within the Portail des Nations different aspects of implementation, including the review and analysis of the contents provided by UN agencies based in Geneva. โข Assists in performing assignments, in collaboration with the partners, by planning facilitating meetings, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan for the implementation of the Portail des Nations. โข Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to written material that relate to the project. โข Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc. โข Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities. โข Coordinates activities related to administrative and logistics support (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and preparation of related documents/reports. โข Performs other duties as required. Experience in a multi-cultural and global context in relation to communication and international relations within the United Nations is desirable.
