The Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as \"green growth\", which targets key aspects of economic performance such poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries worldwide, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.
GGGIโs Impact and Evaluation Unit (IEU) plays a pivotal role in supporting GGGI to accomplish its objectives. The IEUโs purpose, derived from GGGIโs legal framework and strategic directions, is to:
Promote a culture of results-based management and continuous improvement for the achievement of GGGIโs objectives and strategic goals; Enhance program and project monitoring for adaptive management and decision making, as a prerequisite ensuring quality of delivery and creating impact at speed and scale; Deliver high-quality evidence and insights from evaluations to improve operational performance and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and learning on green growth; and Enhance accountability and transparency of GGGIโs operations to its stakeholders, including direct beneficiaries, government and resource partners, and Members of GGGI.
POSITION SUMMARY
IEU is seeking to recruit an Associate, Impact and Evaluation, to strengthen the operational, analytical, knowledge sharing functions of the Unit. Under the guidance of the Head of the Impact and Evaluation and designated supervisors, the Associate will,
PURPOSE
Ensure quality data and evidence is structured to support evaluation planning and implementation; Increase communication and dissemination of evaluation evidence and lessons learned with internal and external stakeholders; Support knowledge sharing of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) good practice across programmatic teams; Effectively monitor the uptake of evaluation evidence and the implementation of management actions to implement evaluation recommendations; and Ensure the smooth functioning of IEU administrative matters, including procurement, invoicing, and budgeting.
ENGAGEMENT
Collaborates regularly with the IEU team to gather clean, and analyze data, prepare visual outputs, and ensure consistent messaging and quality standards; Work closely with evaluation managers in designing and delivering evaluations and rapid assessments; Actively engage with the MEL community of practice leaders to understand and anticipate expectations regarding multidirectional learning and knowledge sharing events; and Consult with the Communications Unit to develop sound understanding of GGGIโs broader communication strategy, its audiences, and preferred means to access information. Consult with Finance, Procurement, and Human Resource Units to develop sound understanding of GGGIโs rules and guidance for procurement and recruitment.
DELIVERY
Maintain databases and data repositories, verifying the completeness and accuracy of data captured therein; Conduct literature reviews and compile background documentation for the design and delivery of IEU-commissioned evaluations and rapid assessments; Draft sections of evaluation reports and rapid assessments, and prepare visualizations to clearly present evaluation evidence; Support the design and implementation of communication strategies, coordinating timelines, tracking outputs, and maintaining editorial standards across products; Provide editorial and design support ensure high-quality and timely evaluation reports, briefs, presentations; Assist in the development and dissemination of evaluation-related communication materials, including briefs, reports, infographics, presentations, web content, and social media content; Support the documentation and communication of lessons learned and success stories emerging from the community; Provide logistical and administrative support to the MEL Community of Practice, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points; Assist with procurement and recruitment processes by preparing draft Terms of Reference (ToRs). Support contract and budget monitoring for consultants and firms engaged by IEU; Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Impact and Evaluation to support the efficient functioning of the Unit.REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelorโs degree in a field related to qualitative/ quantitative analysis, policy studies, and/or communications would be a distinct advantage; At least two years of relevant work experience, such as development and economic sector, within an international organization, development agency, governmental or non-profit sector; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position; knowledge of another UN language would be an advantage.
FUNCTIONAL
Data analysis
Practical experience collecting, cleaning, and validating datasets from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency for analysis and reporting purposes; Application of basic data analysis techniques (e.g., descriptive statistics, trend analysis) to support research, operational monitoring, or decision-making processes; Ability to visualize data findings through dashboards, charts, and reports, using common tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights to non-technical audiences; Familiarity with data management best practices, including documentation, metadata creation, and basic data governance principles.Coordination
Proven ability to organize and document meetings, webinars, and knowledge-sharing sessions, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and following up on action points. Familiarity with online collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint, Viva Engage) and virtual event management platforms to enhance connectivity across geographically dispersed members. Demonstrated ability to create and tailor communication materials (e.g., press releases, web content, social media posts) to effectively reach diverse audiences; Experience supporting communication campaigns, including coordination of content production, digital outreach, and basic analytics tracking to inform future strategies; Ability to translate technical or substantive topics into accessible, engaging language for non-specialist audiences; and Exposure to innovation in communication practices, such as use of new media tools, interactive formats, or audience engagement techniques.
