Setting and ReportingThis post is located in the Debt Management and Financial Analysis System (DMFAS) Programme of the Debt and Development Finance Branch in the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies, the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The position is located in Lomรฉ, Togo. ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Information Systems Officer (Web Developer) will perform his/her duties under the direction of the Chief of the DMFAS Programme and under the supervision of the DMFAS Systems Analyst based in Geneva. Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following: - Assist in the implementation of the migration of DMFAS software (version 6.0) to new technology standards, using the latest JEE architecture model (JEE 8), as well as programming model enhancements to provide a secure foundation for the implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture (using REST-, SOAP-, XML or JSON web services) that use Java APIs for RESTful Web Services and XML based Web Services (JAX-WS). - Collaborate with the DMFAS development team, regarding the system design as well as with the functional design team to create quality functionalities. - Participate in the analysis of needs and the design of technical solutions. - Develop and maintain the DMFAS web application system using the Angular Framework. - Design and implement reusable UI components using PrimeNG. - Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and MyBatis, - Create interfaces for microservices, using Swagger, Engine-rule, and resilience4J. - Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality. - Assist in the publication of required modules, as foreseen in the DMFAS Release 7 development work plan, prepare deferrals by informing the DMFAS Systems Analyst of progress on the work plan. - Develop the required program documentation for modules developed according to DMFAS standards. - Participate in the peer review of one's own work. - Perform other activities as required. Relevant working experience using Web technology, using Angular development framework and related libraries, such as PrimeNG and Akita is required. Progressively responsible experience of DMFAS as a web developer is required. Experience with JAX-RS/JAX-WS for web services (Java APIs for RESTful Web Services and XML-based Web Services is desirable. Experience working in an international organization, such as the United Nations, is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
