Position Overview:The Art Manager is a creative leader within Partners In Healthโ€™s (PIH) Content and Creative team, responsible for managing the organizationโ€™s visual storytelling and strengthening the integrity and evolution of its visual brand. This role oversees the creation of high-quality marketing and communications materials with a focus on advancing the Resource Generation Branch (MarComms, Development, and Institutional Fundraising Partnerships) priorities.The Art Manager leads a team of visual designers while actively contributing to the concept, design, and delivery of key projects. The role requires thoughtful decision-making around priorities, staff resourcing, and timelines, while balancing immediate needs with long-term vision in an efficient, mission-driven environment.   • Manage the creative development of visual marketing and communication materials across a range of print and digital platforms, including the website, social media, direct mail, email, presentations, and events.
  • Provide creative consultation to internal stakeholders and ensure briefs are aligned with PIHโ€™s brand, tone, and values.
  • Build alignment with global graphic designers across sites by supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and collaboration to support consistent design practices while encouraging creative exchange and shared growth.
  • Contribute hands-on to key design projects.

    Team Leadership and Management (40%)

    • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of three visual designers, providing quality assurance, creative input, and skills development.
    • Manage the teamโ€™s day-to-day workflows, priorities, and capacity.
    • Manages external vendors and freelancers to balance bandwidth.

      Brand Strategy and Development (10%)

      • Maintain and evolve PIHโ€™s visual brand system.
      • Establish visual standards and creative direction across communications. Qualifications:
        • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in visual design.
        • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of designers.
        • A strong portfolio showcasing thoughtful, impactful creative across digital, presentations, social, and print.
        • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or similar tools.
        • User experience design, illustration, infographic, or data visualization experience a plus

Pay and BenefitsThe expected starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $75,000-85,000/year and may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position belongs to a class of roles that have a salary range between $70,000-90,000/year. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with employer match, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employeeโ€™s eligible dependents. Full time employees will receive 15 days of vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteer days in addition to paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Yearโ€™s Day, the week of July 4th, and 11 additional holidays annually.
