Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Advocacy Coordinator position for the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) is to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive, evidence-based advocacy strategy. The role covers advocacy activities across both Gaza and the West Bank, including direct supervision of a Gaza Advocacy Technical Officer and a West Bank Advocacy Officer.ย The coordinator will contribute to the development of timely and impactful advocacy products, support strategic engagement with key stakeholders, and help advance NRCโs overall policy influence in the oPt. The role also supports delivery of advocacy components in donor-funded projects, budget management, and donor reporting.
Contribute to the development and implementation of an evidence-based advocacy strategy for the oPt, aligned with NRCโs global and regional advocacy priorities.Monitor political, legal, and humanitarian developments in the West Bank and Gaza, and identify emerging trends or protection concerns to inform adaptive and timely advocacy.Coordinate closely with programme teams to ensure advocacy outputs are grounded in field realities, structured around accurate data, and supported by appropriate evidence.Support the development of high-quality advocacy products, including briefings, features, news releases, reports, and social media posts to target audiences.Contribute analysis and advocacy inputs to NRCโs engagement on access, displacement, and protection issues affecting Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.Contribute to the implementation of advocacy components within donor-funded projects, including meeting reporting and visibility requirements.Liaise regularly with NRCโs regional and global advocacy teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and collaboration across country, regional, and head office (HO) initiatives.Provide daily support and guidance to the Gaza-based Advocacy Technical Officer and the West Bank Advocacy Officer, including quality assurance of their outputs and joint planning.Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local and international NGOs, UN agencies, diplomatic missions, and donors, to amplify NRCโs advocacy positions.Represent NRC in external coordination platforms and advocacy forums.Generic professional competencies for this position:ย

At least three yearsโ experience supporting or delivering advocacy in the oPt, with a strong focus on evidence-based analysis and protection-related issuesBachelorโs degree in law, political science, international relations, human rights, development studies, or a related field. A masterโs degree is an assetSound knowledge of the oPt, including legal frameworks, displacement dynamics, and access constraints in both the West Bank and Gaza StripFamiliarity with key actors and influencing spaces, including diplomatic missions, donor agencies, UN coordination structures, and civil society coalitionsWhat we Offer?ย
