โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹The advice officer will join the advice department and will also work cross-departmentally within the Secretariat, in particular with the science department. This is a diverse role and requires working with and supporting highly skilled professionals, from the Secretariat and across our wider community, to fulfill the requests for scientific advisory services provided by ICES. The role requires a positive attitude and the ability to maintain a good overview of your various duties, as well as to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines in collaboration with your line manager and the team.

You will be working with Secretariat colleagues and senior ICES leadership to support the ICES Advisory and Science Plans for delivering evidence-based scientific advice to meet conservation, management, and sustainability goals for the North Atlantic in a manner that is credible, relevant, and legitimate.

We offer a job in the heart of Copenhagen where you will work with leading scientists in the marine science field and gain insight into the operations of an intergovernmental organization. Our Secretariat staff is made up of approximately 80 people who represent a wide array of nationalities, and our meeting facilities are regularly used by visiting experts from our Member Countries and beyond. Your immediate team consists of skilled and committed colleagues who have a wide range of backgrounds (e.g. marine science, administration, project management), and there is plenty of opportunity for lively discussion, involvement, and competency development.
