ย Context
The establishment of a UN Common Premises for United Nations organizations is an important component of the UNโs Reform Programme. The objective is to build closer ties among United Nations staff and promote a more unified presence at the country level, where possible and where it economically makes good business sense.
In this context the UN Common premises (UN CP) in Dhaka, was established and it comprises, at present, the following UN programmes and specialized agencies, departments & offices and entities: UNRCO, WFP, UN Women, UNDSS, UNAIDS, UNIDO, UNFPA, UNESCO, UNOPS, UNIC, UNHCR and IOM.ย
This position is funded through the UN CP budget and is intended to provide key administrative and operational support to all participating UN agencies. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer (UN Common Premises) and the overall supervision of the IOM Resource Management Officer, the incumbent will support IOM and the broader UN team in the coordination and delivery of services necessary for the smooth functioning of the UN common premises.
III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Administrative Coordination and Support
- Coordinate and process a large volume of confidential correspondence, applying appropriate tracking, prioritization, accuracy, and distribution procedures.
Organizational and Time Management Skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. Strong scheduling, record-keeping, and attention to detail for handling documents and deadlines.Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and visitors. Drafting clear and concise correspondence, reports, and other documents.Technical Proficiency
Competency in using office software (e.g., MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with office equipment and document management systems. Languages English and Bengali IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
