Organizational Context and Scope
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) works to facilitate the orderly and humane management of international migration. Drawing on its experience and expertise, IOM approaches the migration phenomenon from a comprehensive and integrated perspective, encompassing the links with development in order to maximize the benefits of migration and minimize its negative impacts.
Type, format and draft routine correspondence; collate tables, reports, presentations, publications, and other documentation. Receive, screen and direct telephone calls and visitors; respond to routine internal and external enquiries and/or refer to appropriate contacts /units. Enter, retrieve, structure and update selected information and data from various sources (e.g. Intra-/Internet, office files, etc.); present results in standard format. Set up and maintain office files and reference systems according to standard procedures. Process operating accounts and accounting receipts in WAVE. Make and review entries in WAVE, according to the WBLs created, and monitor the correct application of the accounts to be entered into the system. Interact with the Manila offices (PRISM Helpdesk, PCST), Panama (PAC), the Regional Office, and the Head Office in Geneva to respond to requests related to finance/technical accounting issues. Initiate, view and track a variety of administrative transactions in the computerized financial / travel / human resources systems. Support the organization and administration of meetings, workshops and events (e.g. arranging for meeting rooms and other facilities. Assist with arranging for travels: organize transport, logistics, accommodation, documents. Process payment receipts and debts as necessary. Enter information into the bank ledgers and cash usage records in the WAVE system. Assist in planning and organizing staff training on accounting and administrative issues. Ensure availability of office supplies and appropriate maintenance of office equipment; and, PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRES.Required Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma with three years of relevant experience; or, Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration or related fields from an accredited institution with one year of relevant professional experience.Experienceย
