Team Name: Accounting & Compliance

Role Purpose

The role of Accounting Officer of Operations sits within the Accounting and Compliance Team, responsible for supporting accounting operations, audit readiness, and financial compliance across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly analysis schedules for all assigned entities, including year-end audit schedules for all assigned entities

    • Prepare Tax Form 990/990PF workpapers for all assigned entities

      • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all assigned entities, if any and prepare journal entries (regular, intercompany and adjusted), as needed

        • Run ad hoc reports from financial systems as needed (detail transaction reports, et al)

          • Serve as Finance Department liaison to OSF staff, back up other accounting colleagues & support Finance Operations Director, as needed

            • Serve as secondary approver for expense reports

              • Serve as US Accounting SME for Accounting related projects

                • Identify operational gaps and opportunities for improvement across accounting policies, procedures, workflows, and communications to drive efficiency and simplify the user experience

                  The ideal candidate (essential criteria)

                  • Bachelor's degree (BA./BS)

                    • Knowledge of NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, banking software, and various Salesforce platforms

                      • Significant progressively responsible relevant work experience; and knowledge and working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

                        • Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and tax-related activities within an international organization

                          • Prior experience of working in a non-profit organization (or with non-profit clients in an accounting organization)

                            • Proven experience collaborating with, and leading, multi-country or multi-jurisdiction projects

                              • Awareness of diverse cultural differences and communication styles, proven ability to build relationships with a wide range of people within a complex organization
